Local beekeepers have had drought the last year and there is a shortage of honey.
This will be be a very informative workshop that will help you decide if you want to keep A bee hive yourself.
Alan is a very experienced beekeeper in our region, and after meeting Alan I found him to be passionate and have a genuine love for bees.

This will be a basic beehive starting out session.

1. Bee cycle and how long they live
2. Queen bee
3. What you need to set up a simple hive
4. Fear factors. They aren't aggressive unless.......
5. Quality of production and how long it takes,to produce a,full hive of honey
6. Wax production
7. Equipment needed
8. Local council
9 Learn a little more about flow hives. (Note this class is about traditional hives)
Alan will bring some frames and other items for us to look at and inspect.
