Introductory Copper Foiling - Class Structure

9.00-10.30

After some initial safety discussion, day one will involve understanding what the technique of copper foiling involves. Learning the correct skills to cut glass is extremely important and will play a large role in the first session.  Colour choice is important so there will be a discussion involving this.  Using your glass cutting skills you have learnt, you will begin to prepare the glass for your project.  Grinding your glass to ensure accuracy, is the next step.

11.00 - 5.00 with lunch and coffee in between.

After coffee of course, we will start cutting coloured glass for your suncatcher. This can be a complicated process so lots of instruction will see you through to the next stage… foiling and soldering your suncatcher. Now it starts to look great.  But wait……there’s more……

The final stage……..polishing and finishing off your suncatcher.

Along the way you will be inspired, laugh amongst your friends, and be engrossed in the world of glass and its possibilities!!
